Tweetsie Railroad Welcomes America’s Favorite Cowboys


The Blue Ridge Mountains will come alive with the unique blend of Western harmony and comedy when America’s Favorite Cowboys, Riders In The Sky, saddle up at Tweetsie Railroad, August 2 and 3.  Their fun-filled performances have enchanted audiences of all ages and their fans eagerly look forward to their annual appearances at Tweetsie.
  Since 1977, the multi Grammy award-winning group has captivated audiences of all ages, bringing music rich in American tradition, based on the sounds of legendary cowboy singers such as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Sons of the Pioneers. Ranger Doug, “Idol of American Youth”, Woody Paul, “King of the Cowboy Fiddlers”, Too Slim, and Joey, “The CowPolka King” have refreshing acoustical music and a wide musical repertoire with outrageous comedy, delivering entertainment guaranteed to bring pleasure to listeners of all ages and musical preferences. 
  The quartet will perform two shows daily at noon and 3:00 p.m. at Tweetsie Railroad.  Riders In The Sky will perform songs like “Woody’s Roundup,” their Grammy-winning song from the movie Toy Story 2 soundtrack, as well as traditional Western favorites and even songs inspired by Tweetsie Railroad.   From the moment the group steps up to the microphone the enchantment begins, allowing Tweesie visitors to lose themselves in the romantic, comical and whimsical world of the singing cowboys.

·  Riders In The Sky was named Western Music Group of the Year at the 2006 Academy of Western Artists 2006 Will Rogers Awards. 
·        In 2006, Riders In The Sky released a brand new book with companion audio CD, titled Singing Cowboys.
·        Riders In The Sky has received much national acclaim, including a Grammy in 2001 for Best Musical Album for Children with Woody’s Roundup featuring Riders In The Sky, and again in 2003 for their album, Walt Disney Record's Monsters Inc. - Scream Factory Favorites
·         Riders In The Sky performing group member Joey Miskulin produced the music for the Pixar film “Boundin,” which received recognition with a 2004 Oscar nomination in the Short Film (Animated) Category.
· Riders In The Sky is credited with more than 5,000 shows, 300 national TV appearances, 203 public radio shows, nearly 700 Grand Ole Opry appearances, over 3 million miles on the road, three television series and 31 albums.
· Riders In The Sky created and hosted Riders Radio Theater, a program broadcast on more than 170 public and commercial radio stations since 1989. 
· Riders In The Sky recorded original Tweetsie Railroad-themed music, Ridin’ the Tweetsie Railroad, which was released in 2002.
 After trying your hand as a singing cowboy with Riders In The Sky, experience all the other activities offered at Tweetsie Railroad including the Wild West train adventure, amusement rides, Deer Park zoo, Miner’s Mountain and live entertainment for all ages including the famed Diamond Lil’s Can-Can Revue in the Tweetsie Palace.
  Tweetsie Railroad is located in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains on U.S. Highway 321 between Boone and Blowing Rock. The theme park is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Seating for the Riders In The Sky concert is on a first-come first-seated basis, and is included in Tweetsie Railroad’s regular admission prices of $30 for adults and $22 for children age 3 through 12. Children age 2 and under are free. Print at home tickets are available on tweetsie.com.
