Mrs. Edith Y. Puett, age 80, of 412 Wonderland Drive, Blowing Rock, died Sunday morning, July 20, 2008, at Margate Nursing Center in Jefferson.
Mrs. Puett was born October 8, 1927 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Fred and Edna Bolick Young. She was a retired bookkeeper and attended Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Puett is survived by one sister, Elizabeth "Lib" Watson of Blowing Rock; one nephew, Charles H. Lane, Jr. and wife Nancy of West Jefferson; one niece, Lynne Bell and husband Ted of North Myrtle Beach; one great-niece, Georgia A. Lane of West Jefferson; three great-nephews, Charles H. Lane, III and wife Betsy of Williamston, North Carolina, Logan Hash of West Jefferson, and Dr. Sherrill Hayes and wife Jenny of Greensboro, and two great great-nieces, Emma Elizabeth Lane of Williamston and Olivia Hayes of Greensboro. She is also survived by a number of cousins and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Puett, and two sisters, Myrtle Frances Young and Peggy Lane.
Graveside services and burial for Mrs. Edith Y. Puett will be conducted Wednesday morning, July 23, 2008, at 10:00 o'clock, at Reform Church Cemetery in Blowing Rock. Officiating will be Reverend Pug Greene.
The family has respectfully requested no food.
