The Blowing Rock Historical Society’s spring fling will take them to Dobson, North Carolina, and the famed Shelton Vineyards.
Considered one of the finest vineyards in the United States, Shelton is known for its quality and award winning vintages, popular around the world.
The excursion is planned for Friday, May 2nd and a sign-up sheet is already available for those interested in going.
The tour and tasting (including wine glass) is $5 per person, and departure will be from the Hayes Center upper parking lot at 9:30 a.m.
Lunch can be purchased in the winery’s restaurant at 11:30 a.m. and based on selection, ranges between $11 and $15 per person.
The winery tour will be at 1 p.m.
The invitation to participate is to all members of the Blowing Rock Historical Society, friends and potential new members.
Those enjoying the spring fling will return to Blowing Rock around 4 p.m. in the afternoon.
