New Horse Show Dates Will Stretch Performances Throughout Summer

In 1923 it was a show that lasted most of Sunday, and within a few years it had been extended to a Saturday and Sunday.
As the popularity of the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show grew, it expanded again, this time to four days, beginning on Thursday and continuing through afternoon performances on Sunday.
Recently however, the show has been broken into two different events, the saddlebreds and then the Hunter-Jumper, the two running over a three week period.
With the arrival of the 2007 show another major change in dates will not only find fourteen days of performances and competition, but spread over the month of June and August.
The Saddlebreds will be in town early this year, from Thursday, June 7th until Sunday, June 10th. As has been the case in previous years some of the top rated horses in the world will compete at Blowing Rock, considered one of the most prestigious shows in the country.
Horseshow lovers will have to wait until Wednesday, August 1 to dust off their seats at the L.M. Tate Showground. The Hunter-Jumper classes during the first phase begin on Wednesday, August 1 and continue through Sunday, August 5.
After being idle from August 6 to 7, the Hunter & Jumper competition resumes on Wednesday, August 8 for five days of competition through Sunday, August 12.
