BRAAC Sets Planting Day For May 12th
Volunteers are invited to join the Blowing Rock Appearance Advisory Commission at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12th in front of Town Hall to participate in their annual Planting the Village Day.
The beautiful daffodils and tulips you observed around town, though briefly due to the recent cold weather, were annuals and perennials planted last year for all to enjoy. There will be more flowers, that were planted last year, blooming throughout the summer months.
“Volunteers can bring their garden gloves, planting tools and enthusiasm and help us on Saturday, May 12,” said Genie Starnes a BRAAC volunteer. “We have more plants than ever before to put in the ground this year.”
For those that like gardening, flowers, being out in the warm sunshine or just playing in the dirt, Planting Day is the event for you.
Perry Davis and Graeme Justice will be on hand to lend expert planting advice.
“This is always a fun day and we would welcome your help,” Ms. Starnes said. “We look forward to seeing you in front of Town Hall at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12.
