Scramble on the Manor House Lawn
Saturday, April 7th Will Be A Fun Day For Childen At Blue Ridge Parkway’s Manor House
Enjoy a spring day at Moses H. Cone Memorial Park (Blue Ridge Parkway, Milepost 294) scrambling in search of hidden colored eggs, in addition to other special activities for children and adults alike. Each egg will contain a hidden surprise inside!
On April 7th at 1 p.m., the National Park Service and Parkway Craft Center invite kids ages 2-11 to search for eggs. Children are asked to bring their own basket or container for the egg hunt.
1:00 p.m. Egg Scramble
Kids will search for hidden eggs filled with prizes on the lawn of the Manor House. Age groups will be 2-5 and 6-11. Meet on the Manor House porch at 1 p.m. for the official start of the scramble. Come early as parking is limited and, once the whistle is blown, the eggs disappear quickly!
1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Games and Prize Drawings
Several raffle drawings will be held at the conclusion of the egg hunt, for children and adults. Prizes will be Easter baskets filled with “goodies” for children and hand-made items from the craft shop filled with “Ahhs” for adults.
Other activities throughout the afternoon will include activity sheets for the children to fill in focusing on egg related information. “Egg” relay races, “egg” rolls and “egg” toss games are also in the offing. The National Park Service will provide a display of wildlife focusing on egg laying animals.
