Mitford Days Tickets On Sale Now!!

The Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce announces that tickets for two of the highly-sought-after Mitford Days events will be available tomorrow, Friday, March 16 at the Valley Boulevard TDA Visitor’s Center. Mitford Days in Blowing Rock, a tribute to author Jan Karon, is scheduled for September 12-16.
The event honors Ms. Karon and her beloved series of books about the fictional town of Mitford, that, many of her readers feel, was greatly influenced by the village in which she lived while writing the first of eight books.
“Jan lived in Blowing Rock when she was inspired to write the Mitford novels,” notes Charles Hardin, Executive Director of the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. “We believe it is long overdue to honor her with an event such as Mitford Days.”
Tickets for An Afternoon Tea with Jan Karon and the lecture An Afternoon With Jan Karon, to go on sale Friday, are anticipated to be snapped up quickly and seating at both events is limited. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to:

An Afternoon Tea with Jan Karon is a reception in Ms. Karon’s honor, scheduled on Thursday, September 13 at the Blowing Rock Country Club. Tickets for this event are $75.
The lecture, An Afternoon with Jan Karon, is planned for Friday, September 14 at the Mariam and Robert Hayes Performing Arts Center. Lecture tickets are priced at $25.
Tickets for the world premiere of Robert Inman’s play Jan Karon’s Journey to Mitford are already available through the Blowing Rock Stage Company (828) 295-9627.
Tickets for the trolley tours of Blowing Rock which are part of the Mitford Days event will go on sale at a later date.
In addition to various ticketed events, the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring many free events, including the Mitford Country Fair, a parade with Jan Karon as Grand Marshal, a downtown gallery stroll, Watauga Community Band performances in Memorial Park, a Charity Antique Fair and lots more.
