Blowing Rock School Kindergarten Orientation Dates Set For May 7-8

Kindergarten orientation for children starting kindergarten in August, 2007 will be held at each of the Watauga County Schools in April and May.
For Blowing Rock School, the Kindergarten orientation opportunity for parents and students has been scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, May 7th and 8th.
Children who will be five years old on or before October 16th will be registered for kindergarten during the orientation.
Parents need to bring the following documents to register their children for kindergarten: a certified original birth certificate, proof of immunizations; the previous month’s power bill or other proof of the current address; and a copy of a physical exam completed since August of 2006.
The immunizations that must be documented include five for DPT (diphtheria/pertussis/tetanua), 4 for polio, 3 for Hepatitis B, 2 for MMR (mumps/measles/rubella), and 1 each for varicella (chickenpox) and Hib.
Parents should contact the school their child will attend to confirm the time of the orientation and to request information as needed.
