Mr. Weathers

Mr. Carroll Wayland Weathers, Jr., died February 20, 2007 at his home in Hickory, N.C. He was with his beloved sweetheart and devoted wife, Barbara.
Born on September 2, 1931, in Raleigh, N.C., Carroll was the son of the Dean Carroll Wayland Weathers and Sarah Blount McLean Weathers. He was a graduate of Wake Forest University and Wake Forest School of Law and practiced law in North Carolina for 45 years. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and Blowing Rock Methodist Church, Lake Hickory Country Club, the Hickory Coffee Club and Blowing Rock Rotary Club and a retired member of the N.C. Carroll loved Wake Forest sports and was “proud to be a Deacon.” He loved to make others laugh and went out of his way to help others whenever the opportunity came his way. Carroll loved and served the Lord with every bit of his precious heart and will be missed by anyone who ever had the incredible blessing to know him. He loved his family above everything else and devoted the best parts of his life to raising his children, spoiling his grandchildren and loving his dear wife, Barbara, with a deep love, steadfast devotion and great affection for 48 years. Carroll had the kindest heart and sweetest nature ever gifted to a person, which he shared generously in every way possible, most notably as the most loving and supportive husband, grandfather and father four children could ever have had. His life was a living example of the teachings of Jesus Christ. He was filled with integrity, character, respect for others and exemplified honesty and honor. He was a thoroughbred gentleman.
