Kemp Steen Joins Jenkins Realtors

Pam Jenkins Vines and Kim Jenkins Rogers, co-owners of Jenkins Realtors, Inc., are pleased to announce that Kemp Steen, with over 25 years of residential and commercial real estate experience, has joined their firm.
“I am excited to have Kemp join our sales team. The experience and enthusiasm he brings is enormous,” said Pam Vines in announcing the affiliation. “Kemp is a very caring and community minded professional, making him the perfect fit for our office.”
Steen is a native of Salisbury, N.C. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory. Before moving to the High Country, he resided in Hickory for ten years where he was a Rotarian and a Jaycee. He also served in the US Army Reserves for six years.
Steen’s prior business career included being a representative for Investors Diversified Services, Inc., serving investors in Hickory and surrounding area. While in Hickory, he became involved with lumber sales, catering to furniture manufacturers and eventually selling timber throughout the southeast, primarily to pulp and paper mills.
After these business ventures, he turned his attention to real estate where he became a marketing director and consultant to major real estate franchises in the U.S., all with offices in North and South Carolina.
Steen has spent the past 25+ years as a real estate broker in Blowing Rock. He ia member of the National Association of Realtors and the Avery-Watauga Association of Realtors. He is an Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) and has served numerous terms on the Professional Standards Committee with the Avery-Watauga Association of Realtors.
Steen represented the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), for the State of North Carolina in th early 90’s, coordinating sales of bank owned commercial properties during the Savings an Loan debacle across the U.S.
Steen has been involved in the selling and listing of real estate in this area, including the marketing of two residential condominium communities, The Cones and The Village at Green Park. These total 34 luxury condominiums; each community initiated by Steen, from land purchase to project completion.
Kemp is an active member of Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church where, as an Elder, he has served on numerous committees and teaches the Men’s Bible Class.
Steen currently serves on the Wingate University Board of Visitors, serving a leadership role in their mission of growth and development.
He and his wife, Linda, live on Green Hill Woods in Blowing Rock and are the parents of two daughters, Laura and Lana Steen. Kemp enjoys golfing, travelling and spending time with his family.
