The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

The Herdman’s arrived at the Mariam and Robert Hayes Performing Arts Center and the chaos wasn’t far behind. Somehow, amid all that chaos, director Kenneth Kay was able to bring everything together for a magnificent heart-warming Christmas story that really does turn out to be The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The family fun evening, at least for the audience, is watching the Herdman’s intimidate their way into the lead roles for the annual Christmas pageant, and how their first exposure to the historical events of Christmas change their lives from greed to gratitude and teach the church and community that there is good and gentleness in even the most threatening bullies once challenged with truth and understanding. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, the holiday presentation by Blowing Rock Stage Company and the Rocket Players, continues through December 10 at the Mariam and Robert Hayes Performing Arts Center with evening performances at 7 p.m. on the 7, 8 and 9th, and matinee performances at 2 p.m. on December 9 and 10.
