Blowing Rock’s New Police Chief Takes Oath
Mayor J.B. Lawrence administers the oath of office to Blowing Rock’s new Chief of Police Eric Brown. The ceremony took place Friday, December 1st at Town Hall. Chief Brown was promoted to the helm of the Police Department following the retirement of Chief Owen Tolbert.

Art Submission Invited For 2008 Blue Ridge Wine Festival In Blowing Rock
Today, the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce announced the opening of the 2008 Blue Ridge Wine Festival Art Competition. All interested artists are invited to submit original artwork for the 2008 festival, date to be announced. The 2007 Festival is slated for April 12-15 and will incorporate activities throughout the weekend showcasing wines influenced by the Blue Ridge Mountains, local and national celebrity chefs, and food and wine dinners at Blowing Rock’s own highly rated restaurants..
