Tracy Brown Will Lead TDA
Blowing Rock Tourism Development Authority (TDA) has named Tracy Brown its Executive Director, effective December 1. Brown comes to the TDA from the Tanger Outlet Shoppes on the Parkway in Blowing Rock, where he has been General Manager for the past four years.
Brown has been involved in travel and tourism in the North Carolina High Country for more than two decades. He worked with the Southeastern Ski Areas Association, was an award-winning on-air radio personality, was employed in marketing at Tweetsie Railroad, and served on committees and boards for High County Host and both the Boone and Blowing Rock Chambers of Commerce.
“Tracy brings a wealth of relevant experience, important contacts and in-depth knowledge of local tourism to his new position,” said TDA Board Chairman, Bernie Keele. “We feel fortunate to have someone of his caliber on board and we’re excited about the future of Blowing Rock tourism development under his leadership.”
Commenting on his new job, Brown said, “After two decades in tourism in the High Country, I’m looking forward to working on behalf of Blowing Rock as a destination and enhancing its business development in conjunction with our Chamber of Commerce.”
Brown is married; he and his wife Pam, have three daughters, Lily, Mackenzie and Rachel.
