Call For Volunteers!
Four Blowing Rock Organizations Providing An Opportunity For Residents, Seasonal and Year Around, To Step Forward To Exhibit Passion About Their Hometown Pride And Resources
Are you a "people person"?
Are you passionate about your home town village?
Are you enthusiastic about sharing it's attributes with your family and friends?
"If you answered "YES", then you are just the person we'd like to invite to be the face of Blowing Rock, the first friendly face our guests see," said Susan Freshcorn, the new Executive Director of the Blowing Rock tourism Development Authority (TDA). "The busy travel season is right around the corner and we want to ensure visitors receive a warm high country welcome that makes them want to stay late and visit often."
This year four well known community organizations are partnering to make it easy for citizens to step forward to exhibit their village pride. The Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Blowing Rock Historical Society, The Blowing Rock Stage Company, and the Tourism Development Authority are co-presenting volunteer opportunities in town to make it easy for citizens and friends of the village, to be a part of their favorite town project. This one-stop shopping event will take place at Town Hall Wednesday April 13th, 4:00-5:00pm.
A few volunteer areas for your advance consideration include:
* Blowing Rock Historical Society (seasonal greeters & information specialists)
* Blowing Rock Stage Company (seasonal June 9 - September 4th, ushers, areas of production)
* Blowing Rock Chamber - Special Events (year round greeters & runners)
* Blowing Rock Visitors Center (year round greeters & information specialists)
"We want to keep Blowing Rock a great place to visit and reside," Freshcorn said. "But we cannot do it alone. It takes a village! So please bring your calendars and join us April 13th for a fun "Volunteer Sign Up" event and help us perpetuate the fond lasting impression of Blowing Rock, where as we know ... the wind takes you."
